So I've been having a rather bad time with technology recently. A few weeks ago my PS2 managed to somehow get fried (possibly due to travel), and as it turned out, it was cheaper and faster for me to buy a new one rather than get the old one repaired. On one hand, a guy locally could have taken a few weeks to (possibly) fix it costing over £80 (around $160, I think). On the other hand, I could have shipped it to Scotland to get it repaired... but think of the postage costs!
In the end, I had a gift certificate for Argos and decided to get one of them fancy lil' slim jobs. Yummy.
An now today, a day that will forever be marked with infamy (though it would have been more appropriate two days ago) my computer broke down, meaning I've potentially lost all my work for university, along with art stuff I was working on... And I'd finally finished bits for something. ;o;
This computer wasn't old, either. A mere three-month-old infant. The guy I called from tech support said something about some part in the hard drive being cracked or... something. So I'm going to a local computer repair place tomorrow to see if they can salvage any of my files from it before the new hard drive arrives from the manufacturers.
ISN'T TECHNOLOGY WONDERFUL!?
I should have been a luddite.
